  • The current population of Parramatta is 149,000

  • There are 326 hectares of bushland and 65km of rivers and creeks within Parramatta Local government area

  • Parramatta provides employment for over 86,500 people

The first stage of the process was to develop a thorough understanding of Parramatta’s social, economic and environmental background.

Position Papers

TBL Position Papers were the first part in determining “where are we now?”.  The Position Papers attempted to answer the questions

  • What are we currently like?

  • What are the challenges we face?

  • What are the future issues?

  • How are the community, Government and Council responding?

Suburb Profiles

A second part was the Suburb Profiles. These provide a summary of the challenges and opportunities as well as social, environmental and economic information in each suburb.

People, Places, Pathways:

A third part was pdf People, Places, Pathways: Our Present People, Places, Pathways: Our Present’. This document explores how these challenges played out for the residents of Parramatta. This was seen from the perspectives of a number of hypothetical community members.

Triple Bottom Line Position Papers

To help in preparing the ParramattaTwenty25, Working Papers and Position Papers were prepared for each of the Triple Bottom Line areas - environment, social and economic.

The Working Papers are a collation of current or known facts at the time of preparation.  They are detailed documents that represent a snapshot of information on Parramatta.

Suburb Profiles

Suburb Profiles are snapshots of information about a local area.
Each profile includes descriptions about:

  • the local history
  • what the area looks like, including features like creeks, roads, housing and industrial areas
  • who lives here
  • some key community facilities and services like libraries, schools and parks
  • the main challenges and opportunities in the local area

The suburb profiles are working documents that will be updated with new information from time to time.
